The Public Education Office is one of the four pillars of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN). The Head of the Office is Łukasz Kamiński.
The Public Education Office is located in the Institute's headquarters, from where it coordinates the work of the eleven Branch Public Education Offices in Białystok, Gdańsk, Katowice, Cracow, Lublin, Łódź, Poznań, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Warsaw and Wrocław.
The Office operates in three following areas: education, science and publishing. Its scientific activities entail commemorating the newest history of Poland by launching research projects, organizing meetings, conferences, seminars, as well as supporting individual initiatives and social circles, epecially the veterans. The educational activities aim at supporting the historical education and popoularizing the knowledge about Polish newest history. The editorial and publishing work, including the Institute's website and portals, entail popularization of the issues undertaken by the research and educational departments.
