Before and after the 13th of December. Behind the Iron Curtain countries’ attitude towards the crisis in PRL 1980-1982, vol. 1 [Przed i po 13 grudnia. Państwa bloku wschodniego wobec kryzysu w PRL 1980-1982, t. 1]
The discussion abort the reasons and results of introducing martial law is concentrated on two specific issues. Firstly, the author asks; if the communists and members of “Solidarity” could they coexist or was the confrontation inevitable. Secondly, if the intervention of the Warsaw Pact army in Poland was real from 1980-1981. The materials of the period from August 1980 to March 1981 printed in this volume help one to familiarize themselves with the attitudes and views of the leaders of the “sister countries” regarding the situation in the PRL. Volume 2 will cover the information until December 1981.
