Janusz Borowiec’s account depicts the structure, mechanism and range of military jurisdiction, the Local Public Security Office and its district bodies in Rzeszów Region between 1944 and 1954. Borowiec draws from many archival sources and discusses relations between the public security office, on one hand, and prosecutors’ office together with the military courts, on the other hand. The monograph provides comparative background for comparison and multitude of information about the postwar Poland.
