Investigation in the case of mass arrests and deportations to the Soviet camps of the Home Army soldiers from the Rzeszów region in the years 1944-1945 The investigation is being conducted by the Branch Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation in Rzeszów. The decision to instigate the investigation was made on November 9th, 2000.

In the period from August 1944 to February 1945 the Soviet authorities, as well as the Ministry of Defense and Security Office organs collaborating with them, arrested a couple of dozen of the Polish Home Army soldiers from the region of Rzeszów. The arrested soldiers were imprisoned in Rzeszów, and then deported to the camps in the Soviet Union. Some of the arrested soldiers died in the camps, the rest of them returned to Poland in the years 1945-1947.  August 22nd, 2002
