Grants

The Institute gives grants to external parties and supervizes projects as implemented by other istitutions, also in the form of collaboration.

In the years 2006-2008, the following scientific and documentary projects were aided:

The Index of Poles Murdered and Victimised by the Nazis for Helping Jews. The project is being carried out by the Institute for Strategic Studies in Cracow.

Casualties and Victims of Repression under the German Occupation 1939-1945. The goal of the project is the establishment of a name data base comprising those citizens of the Polish state who lost their lives or were subject to all sorts of repression by the German occupier. The project was commissioned and supervised by the Institute and performend by the documentators of the KARTA Centre, which entailed the compilation of the already existing and developed data bases. Currently, the central data base has ca. 1 million records (names). In the Institute the project is coordinated by dr. Waldemar Grabowski.

The Index of the Victimised in the East. The KARTA Centre has carried out this project for several years now with a constant support from the Institute (in the form of a grant-in-aid). The project entails collection of data on the Polish citizens victimized by the Soviet authorities in the years 1939-1959 and rendering the collected information to the public. The works were performed between 2006-2008 and coordinated by dr. W. Bułhak.

The Bibliography of Polish History. For the purpose of digitalization, in the years 2007-2008 the Institute bought the 1971-1989 'The Bibliography of Polish History' annals, as well as the already digitalized1990-2006 annals. These will be gradually developed and made accessible on an Internet portal (36 altogether). The project was launched in December 2008. The database will be consecutively developed with the following annals: in 2009 (the year 2007), in 2010 (the year 2008), etc. The project is coordination by dr. W. Bułhak, with the cooperation of dr. W. Frazik (the BPEO in Cracow) and dr. Krzysztof Persak (the PEO Headquarters).
