After the fall of the Milošević's regime, the Serbian government adopted a decree allowing certain categories of citizens to have access to the records concerning them which were accumulated by the State Security Service since 1945. The citizens may read their records in the presence of an official agent, but they are not permitted to take notes or disclose the information contained in the files to unauthorised people. Certain information concerning the names of third people is obliterated prior to disclosing it to private people.
