Ukrainians in the Western and Northern Polish Territories 1947-1957

The Monographs and Elaborations series consists of publications devoted to the recent history of Poland and description of the fates of Polish citizens in the years 1939-1989. The first volume in the series presents the policy of the Polish People's Republic towards Ukrainians. The book informs on various initiatives starting from the action "Wisła" (1947) and ending with the creation of the Ukrainian Socio-Cultural Association (1957). It is an account of a difficult adaptation process that the displaced Ukrainians went through in the new territories as well as of their adamant attempts to return.
