Security Office in Przemyśl 1944-1956

The study depicts the history of Przemyśl security apparatus since its origin in 1944 till its reorganization in 1956. Dariusz Iwaczenko describes the structural changes that took place during the period, paying particular attention to the personnel’s level of education and discipline as well as their moral values. The publication includes description of Secret Security agents’ network in Przemyśl region. Later, the author focuses on describing methods applied by Security Office with regard to Polish national underground movement, legal opposition, Catholic Church, and Ukrainian underground. Iwaczenko used archival resources of IPN in Rzeszów and works of historians from Rzeszów region.
