Security System in Poland between 1953-1954. Tactics, Strategy, and Methods

The fourth volume (and second issued by IPN) in the series of documents issued by the Ministry of Public Security. It includes protocols and memos from meetings, which describe the principal policies of the security system and events that took place in the ministry. In the two years covered in the book the security system underwent a major change: at the beginning of 1953 the system played an essential role in Poland’s public life, whereas at the end of 1954 it was thoroughly – yet only with regard to its form – reorganized. The documents reveal the growing crisis in security system and the attempts to avert it.
