Anti-Polish Action of the OUN-UPA 1943-1944. Facts and Interpretations
The next volume in the Post-Conference Materials series consists of contributions made during the session on the Anti-Polish Action of the OUN-UPA 1943-1944 which was organized in May 2002 in Lublin.
The publication is devoted to the Polish-Ukrainian conflict in the years of the second World War. The heart of the analysis is the anti-Polish action of the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists and Ukrainian Insurgent Army (OUN-UPA), in the years 1943-1944 in Wołyń and Eastern Galicia. The authors of the particular contributions analyse the course and implications of the anti-Polish action and present the way it is depicted in the recent literature and history manuals. The contributors agree on the facts, however not on their assessment. This can be traced in the discourse of the particular contributions. Showing this variety of interpretations, particularly among Polish historians, was one of the goals of the
conference.
The presented articles contribute substantially to the increase in existing knowledge on that historical period.
