Judges of Warsaw during the Challange 1981-1988

Adam Strzębosz and Maria Stanowska focus their attention on jurisdiction of Warsaw courts in criminal cases of political character in the period from December 1981 till December 1988.
Therefore, the book covers not only the period of martial law but also the period of its suspension , when some restrictions of penal regulations were still binding, and finally the years when the extraordinary regulations were abolished.
The publication presents the results of very laborious researches on the jurisdiction of Warsaw courts 1981-1988, conducted not only on the basis of charge sheets and sentences, but also on the whole evidence gathered during the preparatory procedures. The results of those studies show an extraordinary diversity of judge’s attitudes – from deeply heroic to extremely opportunistic.
