Mr. Janusz Kurtyka – the President of the Institute of National Remembrance.

On 9 December 2005 the Polish Parliament – Sejm – appointed Dr. Janusz Kurtyka to be a president of the Institute of National Remembrance for a five-year term. The Senat – the higher chamber of the Polish Parliament – confirmed this decision on 22 December 2005. Mr. Kurtyka was introduced to his office on 29 December 2005, after he vowed in front of the Sejm to serve the Polish Nation faithfully, to uphold the law, to fulfill his duties thoroughly and honestly.
