Meeting with Mr. Patrick Lawless, Ambassador of Australia to Poland

First, Prof. Leon Kieres talked about his visit to Australia on the invitation of the Australian Institute of Polish Affairs. He mentioned the meetings with Polish Community in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Canberra, his lectures at Australian universities and meetings with Jewish Community in Australia.
Ambassador Patrick Lawless stated that the visit of the President of IPN was an essential step in strengthening the Australian-Polish relations.

Next, Ambassador Lawless handed over to Prof. Kieres the text of speech of Sen. Humphries. The main subject of the speech was the interpretation of the Jewish-Polish-Nazis relation in the English speaking West media. Prof. Kieres expressed his gratitude for receiving the text of Sen. Humphries’ speech.

Later during the meeting, the issues of work of IPN and the relation of a nation towards its own history in the context of Polish – Australian relations ware discussed.
