Press Communique – Results of the Voting on the Candidate for the President of the Institute of National Remembrance – Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation

The second round of concourse for the position of IPN President took place on September 21, 2005 when the Council of IPN held public hearings of the candidates. The Council has chosen Janusz Kurtyka, PhD. The returning committee announced that all members of IPN Council have voted and all votes were valid.
Janusz Kurtyka obtained the obligatory majority of 6 votes, and Janusz Krupski obtained 5 votes. The remaining candidates obtained no votes.
The IPN Resolution no. 4/05 of September 21, 2005 on the candidate for the President of the Institute of National Remembrance – Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation shall be passed to the Chair of the Sejm on September 22, 2005.
