Showing of the exhibition „ Blood of the workers will not have been spilled in vain” – Vilnus, Lithuania, 27 January 2012.
The House of Polish Culture in Vilnus, City Hall of Szczecin, House of Culture “Slowianin” from Szczecin and the Szczecin Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance organised the showing of the of the exhibition „Blood of the workers will not have been spilled in vain”.
The exhibition consists of 30 boards, showing the events which took place in Tri-city (Trójmiasto), Elbląg and Szczecin from December of 1970 – January of 1971, and exposes the aftereffects of these events across the rest of the country. The exhibition reminds about the fact that in Szczecin there wasn’t just the bloody suppression riots but also two large strikes encompassing the entire city and its surroundings. It was these strikes that became an organizational and directional blueprint during August of 1980.
The exhibition was prepared by the employees of the Institute of National Remembrance Szczecin Branch: Mrs. Katarzyna Rembacka and Paweł Miedziński.
Venue: Dom Kultury Polskiej (House of Polish Culture) in Vilnus, Naugarduko 76 street, Lithuania
The exhibition is open until 8 February 2012.
