Rotamaster Pilecki on book fair in Asia - Taiwan, 9-24 February 2011

On 9-24 February International Book Fair was being held in Taiwan - one of the biggest publishing events in the world.

This year on Polish and Italian stands 2 books on Rotamaster Witold Pilecki were presented - “Volunteer" ("Il Volontario) by dr. Marco Patricelli and the album “Rotamaster Witold Pilecki 1901-1948" by Jacek Pawłowicz published by the Institute of National Remembrance. There was also a screening of a short film by Umberto Femminelli “Homage to Pilecki”. The presentation on Rotamaster Pilecki was very popular. Many Taiwanese were touched by heroism and sacrifice of the Rotamaster who volunteered to go to Auschwitz.

Currently, talks with publishers are held on issuing “Volunteer" in Taiwan. In preparing the exhibition on Witold Pilecki the following took part: by the Italian Diplomatic Post in Taiwan, Institute of National Remembrance, “Laterza” publishing house and “Altrove, Italia” society promoting Italian culture in Taiwan.
