Visit of Federal Commissioner for the Records of the National Security Services of the former DDR, 16th October 2007

On October 16th Janusz Kurtyka, IPN President, met with Marianne Birthler, the Federal Commissioner for the Records of the National Security Services of the former DDR and the delegation of the Office of the Federal Commissioner (BStU).
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the current activities of both institutions and summarize the results of cooperation between IPN and BStU.
The participants agreed upon common plans of exhibitions and publications, e.g. presentation of the IPN exhibition “Fighting Solidarity” in Berlin and issuing the IPN publication „Handbook of the Communist Security Apparatus” in German language. In November 2007 BStU archivists will be on a study trip to IPN archival bureau. Before, the IPN archivists visited BStU archival offices.
