In connection with the on-going public debate on documents concerning Archbishop Stanisław Wielgus.

The IPN hereby informs, that during the debate as well as in previous months all requirements and legal obligations were obeyed by the IPN as a governmental institution.
The IPN was established on a basis of an act by the Polish Parliament in 1998 and has been fulfilling its mission in accordance with the national and international law. A part of this mission is disclosing open files for research purposes.
The IPN in all its activities with regard to the Catholic Church in Poland always takes into account its special, historic role.
