Investigation in the case of murders by the soldiers of the Soviet army of several Poles in June 1941 in Białystok and its area
It has been established that at
beginning on June 22nd, 1941 the withdrawing Soviet troops, that were forced out
by the German army, committed regular crimes against the inhabitants of
Białystok and its area. Ordinary people who happened to be in the vicinity of
the passing Soviet troops were shot dead. There were cases when the whole
families were dragged out of their houses and then executed by firing squads in
Białystok and the Białystok area. The investigation is in its initial stage. The
goal of the investigative proceedings is to find out the names of all the
executed and their families.
