Indictment in the Case of Janusz B.
On May 29th, 2002 Branch
Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation in Gdańsk
issued an indictment against Janusz B., a former official of the Public Security
Office in Lębork. He has been accused of committing a Communist crime of
conducting physical and psychical tortures during the explanatory proceedings
concerning a youth organization, the Polish Underground Skauting, in which he
acted in the capacity of an investigation office. The crime was committed in the
period from September 19th to December 19th, 1949. During prolonged night
interrogations, the accused used to beat his victims all over their bodies and
threaten them with death. The members of the organization were 16-18 years old
at that time.
Currently, the proceedings in this case are conducted in the Regional Court in
Lębork.
