This is the first thorough work in Polish historiography that is devoted to studying and describing what place a Jewish country would take in the arena of Polish foreign policy, from the country’s creation in 1948 until the break off in diplomatic relations in 1967. Bożena Szaynok reconstructs, among others, the Polish attitude towards the situation in Palestine just after the Second World War (1945-1946) and the discussion in the United Nations devoted to the future of this region (spring-autumn of 1947). The author discusses the place of Israel in the “March propaganda” of 1968 as well.
