Educational portal about Martial Law in Poland

The Institute of National Remembrance started an educational portal about Martial Law in Poland (www.13grudnia81.pl).

On December 13-th 1981 the Military Council of National Salvation, headed by General Wojciech Jaruzelski, imposed Martial Law in Poland. On this day hopes of millions of Poles were broken and on many years moved away chance for democratic changes. Martial Law inflicted suffering on thousands of peoples and their families – isolation in detention camps, imprisonment, deprivation of job, other repressions, and many of innocent people lost their lifes.
On this portal the Institute of National Remembrance placed basic facts, chronology of events, witnesses reports, publications and documental movies.
