Sławomir Cenckiewicz, Ph.D, D.Sc., Director of the Polish Army’s History Office and advisor to the President of the Institute of National Remembrance, has been appointed to the Council of the Institute for Research on Totalitarian Regimes in Prague (Ústav pro studium totalitních režimů). The eleven-person advisory board of the Director Ladislav Kudrna, Ph.D. encompasses five Czech and six foreign experts. They include historians, political scientists and other representatives of social sciences disciplines. “The main criterion for selecting members of the Scientific Council was their expertise,” said Director Ladislav Kudrna about the newly appointed council.
The new council of the Institute will also include, among others, Antonia Doležalová, Jeffrey Gedmin, Petr Hlaváček, Petr Koura, Adrian Portmann, Jerguš Sivoš, Vladimir Tismăneanu, Aviezer Tucker and Jan Váně.
