Visit of President of the IPN dr. Łukasz Kamiński in Bloomington (United States) - 20-24 January 2016

Between 20-24 January President of the Institute of National Remembrance Dr. Łukasz Kamiński visited the United States at the invitation of the Polish Studies Center at the University of Bloomington.


The programme of the visit included the official opening at the Global&International Studies Building of the IPN exhibition „Fighting Poland”, showing the phenomenon of origination and operation of the Polish Underground State. Then the President gave a lecture in English on the myth of the Fighting Poland and its impact on future generations of Poles. After the official part, a meeting with representatives of the local Polish community invited for the ceremony was held President also accepted an invitation to a gala dinner with employees of the Polish Studies Center at the University of Bloomington.


The next day President took part in the conversation with the lecturers and students of the Polish Studies Center, which was aimed at presenting the role of the IPN in the dissemination of knowledge about Polish history in various forms - from board games to scholarships. The moderators of the discussion were Professor Joanna Niżyńska and Prof. Padraic Kenney of the Polish Studies Center.
